Businesses from across Bracknell gathered last month at the Fujitsu offices on Lovelace Rd to hear the results of the Feasibility Study initiated by the Bracknell Investment Group and discuss opportunities for businesses in the area to develop a Business Improvement District (BID).
These ranged from influencing key strategic issues such as traffic congestion as a collective voice to more direct support for businesses such as environmental improvements and help in attracting skilled people.
Maria Sabey, Head of Property at Fujitsu, who chairs the group and hosted the evening event said, ‘We were really pleased to welcome so many businesses from across the area who had the opportunity to network, learn about other places which have benefited from a BID and discuss the findings of the Feasibility Study. There was some really positive discussion about the initiative and people wanting to learn more and arrange one-to-one meetings.’
Having completed the Feasibility Study the Bracknell Investment Group has now pushed the button to move into the development phase of the Business Improvement District. The aim is to develop a business plan which would go to a ballot of businesses in the area towards the end of next year.
